Mike Van Ooteghem scored twice and Kyle Platzer had a goal and two assists to lift the Waterloo Siskins to a 5-2 come from behind road win Friday over the Owen Sound Greys in Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League action.
Trevor Hughson and Kristopher Dobinson replied for Owen Sound (7-30-3), which held a 2-1 lead entering the third period.
Greys leading scorer Mitch Wright collected two helpers in the loss, while Tyler Crawford and Doug Ardis each contributed one.
Wright, who participated in the 2011-12 GOJHL Top Prospects Game on Monday, now has 37 points (12 goals, 25 assists) in 40 games.
Marc Williams stopped 41 of 42 Owen Sound shots for the win and Jacob Keogh made 32 saves in defeat.
The Siskins went 2 for 5 with the man advantage, while the Greys finished 1 for 4.
The Greys, who trail the eighth-place Kitchener Dutchmen by four points for the final playoff spot in the Midwestern Conference, hit the road Saturday for a game with the second-place Brantford Golden Eagles (32-6-2). Brantford returns the favour by paying a visit to the Bayshore Community Centre next Friday. The puck drops for both tilts at 7:30 p.m.
