A stellar 60-save winning performance against the top team in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League's Midwestern Conference has earned rookie goaltender Nicholas Caldwell this week's yourgbsports.com Greys Player of the Week.
A New Liskeard, Ont. native, Caldwell recently returned to the Greys lineup after sustaining an upper body injury that had kept him sidelined since mid-November. In his return on Jan. 8, Caldwell stopped 57 shots in a 5-2 road loss to the defending Sutherland Cup champion Elmira Sugar Kings.
Rookie forward and Greys leading scorer Mitch Wright, who was named last week's yourgbsports.com Greys Player of the Week, received an honourable mention this week after tallying six points (two goals, four assists) in two games.
The Greys, who have won two of their last three games, return to action this Friday when they welcome the Brantford Golden Eagles to the Bayshore Community Centre. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
